Persistent Burglar Targets North Baltimore Business, Owner Tia Hamilton Suspects Teenage Culprit

BALTIMORE, MD — Tia Hamilton, the owner of a community business located along Greenmount Avenue in North Baltimore, is facing a persistent security challenge after her establishment was burglarized for the third time since February 2025. The recurring break-ins have caused significant financial strain on the business, which had only opened its doors the previous year to provide notary, shipping, and other community services.

Surveillance footage of the latest incident captured a suspect demonstrating remarkable agility, described by the owner as having the movements of "Spider-Man." The burglar was filmed scaling a back alley wall before squeezing through an extremely narrow space between security bars on a window to gain entry to the property.

Based on the suspect's physical build, behavior, and choice of attire — which appeared to be the identical outfit worn in previous break-ins — Hamilton strongly suspects the perpetrator is a local teenager. Her suspicion is further supported by the burglar's behavior inside the shop: they ignored several high-value items, focusing instead on cash registers from which they made off with approximately $1,200. "A professional thief would have taken the electronics," Hamilton noted, expressing her belief that the culprit is a child who may be acting out of desperation or lack of guidance.

Rather than seeking purely punitive measures, Hamilton has taken a unique, community-focused approach to the situation. While she has reinforced the shop's security by upgrading locks and keeping all business cash inside a secure safe, she publicly extended a rehabilitation offer to the suspect. Hamilton stated she would be willing to offer the teenager a job if they walked through the front door to have a conversation, warning that "stealing is either going to put you in jail or in the grave."

The Baltimore Police Department is actively investigating the series of burglaries. Authorities are reviewing the surveillance footage and urging anyone with information about the suspect's identity or the incidents to contact local detectives.
