Four Teenagers Arrested After Robbing Downtown Baltimore Store and Assaulting Officers

BALTIMORE, MD — Four minors have been arrested and charged following a robbery at a commercial business and a subsequent physical confrontation with responding police officers in downtown Baltimore. The suspects, ranging in age from 14 to 16, were apprehended and booked into the local juvenile justice facility.

The incident took place on the afternoon of Thursday, May 2, 2024. According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded to reports of a commercial robbery at a business located in the 300 block of West Baltimore Street. A group of juveniles had allegedly entered the store, assaulted an individual on the premises, and stolen various items of merchandise before fleeing on foot.

Officers patrolling the area quickly located the suspects nearby. As the officers attempted to detain the group, a physical confrontation ensued. Two of the minors allegedly assaulted the officers in an attempt to evade arrest. Despite the resistance, police managed to secure and take all four suspects into custody.

The arrested individuals were identified as a 16-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, and two 14-year-old girls. All four were transported to the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center, where they face charges related to the robbery and the assault on law enforcement officers. Authorities confirmed that the officers involved did not sustain life-threatening injuries during the struggle.
