Man Shot and Arrested After Alleged Armed Robbery Outside Baton Rouge Business

BATON ROUGE, LA — A confrontation outside a local Baton Rouge business escalated into gunfire early Sunday morning, leaving one suspect wounded and under arrest. The Baton Rouge Police Department is currently investigating the incident, which has raised concerns over safety near commercial areas in the city.

According to preliminary reports from local law enforcement, officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, investigators determined that an armed robbery had been attempted outside the business premises. During the course of the altercation, the suspect was shot.

Emergency medical services arrived shortly thereafter, transporting the injured suspect to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
