Bedford Park: $85,000 Safe Stolen from Goals Plastic Surgery
Employees and management at Goals Plastic Surgery in Bedford Park are reeling after a highly coordinated overnight burglary left the business missing a substantial amount of cash. The brazen theft has prompted a police investigation and raised suspicions of an inside job.
Heavy Safe Stolen from Second Floor
According to local authorities, the break-in occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on May 31, 2026. The targeted business is located at 74 East 205th St. Police reports indicate that multiple suspects forcibly entered the premises under the cover of darkness. Once inside, the perpetrators bypassed general areas and headed directly for a highly secured room on the second floor.
The thieves managed to extract a heavy safe embedded in the wall, leaving behind a gaping hole that is still visible weeks later. Inside the safe was an estimated $85,000 in cash. Investigators have since obtained and released surveillance footage and images of the individuals believed to be involved, hoping the public can assist in identifying them.
Suspicions of Inside Knowledge
The precision and speed of the burglary have led employees to suspect that the perpetrators had intimate knowledge of the clinic's layout and security protocols. Kayy Fernandez, the social media manager for Goals Plastic Surgery, expressed her shock and concern over the incident.
"I just know that whoever did this obviously knew more than just a customer because we have a safe on the second floor; everything is very secured," Fernandez stated. The sentiment is shared among staff, who find it difficult to believe that random burglars could navigate the building so efficiently and locate the concealed safe without prior information.
Preventing High-Value Business Thefts
Commercial burglaries involving large sums of cash often require significant planning. Business owners can mitigate these risks by implementing stringent security measures:
- Frequent Bank Deposits: Avoid keeping large amounts of cash on the premises overnight. Implement a strict policy for daily or frequent armored car deposits.
- Access Control: Restrict access to areas where safes or cash are kept. Use electronic key fobs that log entry times and identities, rather than easily duplicated physical keys.
- Advanced Alarm Systems: Ensure that the safe itself is wired to a silent alarm system that alerts the police immediately upon tampering or unauthorized access.
