Thieves Disguised as Utility Workers Target Bellevue Homes for High-End Appliances

BELLEVUE, Wash. — The Bellevue Police Department is warning homeowners about a sophisticated theft scheme where suspects pose as professional workers to gain access to residential properties and steal high-end appliances.

Investigators report that at least two individuals dressed in high-visibility vests and work clothing have targeted residences in Bellevue. By mimicking construction crew members or utility workers, the suspects managed to blend into neighborhoods without raising suspicion from neighbors.

Once they identified target homes—often those undergoing renovations or temporarily unoccupied—the thieves entered and systematically removed premium kitchen and home appliances, loading them into a vehicle parked nearby.

"These suspects are using disguise to hide in plain sight," a Bellevue Police spokesperson stated. Residents are urged to verify the credentials of any unscheduled workers in their neighborhoods and report suspicious activities immediately.
