Burglars Use Vehicle to Ram Berkeley CVS in Bold Pharmacy Heist

BERKELEY, CA — In a brazen and destructive overnight heist, burglars used a vehicle to ram through the entrance of a Berkeley CVS store, targeting the pharmacy before fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours when suspects backed a vehicle directly into the glass front doors of the commercial building. The impact caused severe structural damage to the store's facade. Once inside, the perpetrators bypassed general retail aisles and focused their attention on the pharmacy department, attempting to steal prescription medications.

The Berkeley Police Department responded to the automatic commercial alarm within minutes, but the suspects had already fled the area in the ramming vehicle and possibly an accomplice getaway car. Officers secured the scene and initiated a search of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Store management has temporarily closed the location to assess the damage and begin repairs. Investigators are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to contact the Berkeley Police Department.
