Teenager Arrested After Armed ATM Robbery in East Boston

EAST BOSTON, MA — A teenager has been arrested and faces serious charges following an armed robbery outside an automated teller machine (ATM) in East Boston. The swift response of responding officers led to the location and apprehension of the juvenile suspect shortly after the crime occurred.

The incident took place when a victim was approached by the suspect while using an ATM in East Boston. The suspect brandished a weapon and demanded cash from the victim. Fearing for their safety, the victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene on foot. Police officers patrolling nearby responded immediately to the 911 call, obtaining a detailed description of the suspect and launching a search of the immediate area.

A short time later, officers spotted a teenager matching the description provided by the victim. The suspect was stopped, and following an investigation, was placed under arrest. Officers recovered the stolen cash and a weapon during the arrest.
