Spree Burglar Apprehended with Burglary Tools Claims He Was 'Going to Asda'

BOSTON — A suspected serial burglar has been detained by police officers after being found in possession of common burglary tools and a significant amount of cash. When questioned about the hammer and chisel in his possession, the suspect offered an unusual alibi, claiming he was simply heading to the supermarket.

Officers patrolling the area stopped the individual following reports of suspicious activity in the neighborhood. A search of the suspect revealed the tools, which law enforcement officials state are commonly used to force entry into properties, along with an undisclosed sum of money.

Despite his claim of being on an innocent shopping trip, the presence of the tools and the circumstances of the stop led to his immediate arrest. Police are currently investigating whether the suspect can be linked to other recent break-ins and burglaries reported across the district.

He remains in custody pending further inquiries and formal charges.
