BRENTWOOD, CA โ€” Quick actions by the Brentwood Police Department resulted in the arrest of a suspect engaged in a commercial ATM theft targeting a Bank of America branch.

On the afternoon of May 22, 2025, security alarms triggered an immediate police dispatch to the Bank of America facility located in Brentwood. Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect actively tampering with the bank's automated teller machine (ATM) in an apparent attempt to breach the secure vault and extract cash reserves.

Growing Trend of ATM Burglaries

The arrest comes amid a regional rise in targeted ATM thefts, where organized crime groups often utilize heavy tools, vehicles, or specialized cutting gear to break open machines. In this instance, local police officers set up a prompt perimeter, successfully preventing the suspect from fleeing the scene.
