Four Arrested for $100K Pokémon Card and Collectibles Theft at Burbank Shop
BURBANK, CA — Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the theft of approximately $100,000 worth of rare collectibles, including highly sought-after Pokémon cards, from a local specialty shop in Burbank.
The heist, which targeted a popular hobby and trading card store, involved the theft of vintage card packs, graded collectibles, and rare memorabilia. Following a detailed investigation, Burbank Police Department detectives identified and located the four suspects, taking them into custody. A portion of the stolen merchandise was successfully recovered during the arrests.
Collectibles and trading cards, particularly Pokémon cards, have surged in value over recent years, making specialty shops prime targets for organized theft rings. Police noted that the suspects appeared to have targeted specific high-value items within the store, suggesting premeditation.
The suspects face charges of grand theft and commercial burglary. Investigations continue to identify if the group has connections to similar collectibles thefts reported across Southern California.
