Juvenile Group Robs Canton Tobacco Shop, Spraying Clerk with Fire Extinguisher

CANTON, OH โ€” Police are seeking the public's help to identify a group of juveniles who assaulted a store clerk and robbed a Canton tobacco shop on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

According to law enforcement, the group entered the tobacco shop and immediately confronted the clerk. In a chaotic sequence captured on surveillance footage, one of the juveniles discharged a fire extinguisher directly at the clerk's face to disorient them. Meanwhile, the other members of the group leaped over the counter to steal cash and merchandise.

The suspects fled the scene on foot before police arrived. The store clerk suffered minor injuries from exposure to the dry chemical agent but was treated at the scene and is expected to recover. Investigators are reviewing security footage to identify the suspects involved and are asking anyone with information to step forward.
