Carson City Man Arrested for Second-Offense Domestic Battery and Vehicle Burglary After Throwing Beverage Can
CARSON CITY, NV — A local resident is facing multiple charges, including felony vehicle burglary and domestic battery, following an altercation in Carson City that escalated into physical violence and unauthorized entry into a vehicle.
Carson City Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute. According to police reports, the suspect allegedly threw a can of "Twisted Tea" at his partner during a confrontation. Under Nevada law, throwing an object at an intimate partner constitutes domestic battery, and because the individual has a prior conviction, the charge was elevated to domestic battery, second offense.
In addition to the domestic battery charge, deputies booked the suspect on a charge of burglary of a motor vehicle. Investigators determined that the suspect had entered a vehicle at the scene without permission to commit a crime or take property, triggering the felony burglary classification. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Carson City Jail.
