Suspect Arrested and Merchandise Recovered After South Charlotte Jewelry Store Break-In

CHARLOTTE, NC — A commercial break-in at a jewelry store in South Charlotte ended in a swift arrest on February 6, 2025, thanks to the rapid response of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Officers responded to an active alarm at the jewelry establishment in the South Charlotte area. Upon arrival, police discovered signs of forced entry. A suspect was located nearby shortly after the incident and was taken into custody without further incident.

During the arrest, officers successfully recovered the stolen merchandise, which consisted of high-value jewelry pieces taken from the store's display cases. The retrieved items have since been returned to the business owner, preventing a significant financial loss.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been publicly released pending formal charges, is facing multiple counts including commercial burglary, felony larceny, and possession of stolen property.
