East Charlotte Armed Robbery Suspects Wanted After Striking During Snowstorm

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery in East Charlotte. The suspects took advantage of a winter snowstorm on February 4, 2026, to carry out the heist before fleeing into the adverse weather conditions.

Robbery Under the Cover of Snow

According to police records, the two suspects entered a business in East Charlotte during the peak of the snowstorm, brandishing a firearm and demanding cash from employees. Due to the severe weather conditions outside, street activity was minimal, which the suspects apparently used to their advantage for a quick getaway.

“The suspects capitalized on the storm, believing the weather would slow down police response,” a CMPD investigator noted. “However, officers were on the scene quickly, and we are actively analyzing surveillance footage to identify the culprits.”

Police Appeal to the Public

CMPD has released security camera images showing one of the suspects dressed in heavy winter gear. Investigators are urging anyone who may recognize the suspect's clothing or who has information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers immediately. Information can be provided anonymously, and a reward may be available for tips leading to an arrest.
