Second Victim Dies Following Thursday's Charlotte Home Invasion and Kidnapping

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A violent home invasion and kidnapping that took place in Charlotte has claimed a second victim. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) confirmed the tragic update, stating that the second individual injured during the incident has succumbed to their injuries.

The incident, which occurred last Thursday, sent shockwaves through the local community. According to police reports, multiple armed suspects forced entry into a residential home, holding the occupants and committing a kidnapping. During the course of the home invasion, victims sustained severe injuries. One victim passed away shortly after the attack, and a second victim had been hospitalized in critical condition before passing away on Monday.

Detectives with the CMPD Homicide Unit are investigating the case, which has now transitioned to a double homicide investigation.
