CHARLOTTE, NC — A chaotic scene involving gunfire has exposed a clandestine illegal gambling operation running in a Charlotte neighborhood. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that officers responded to reports of an attempted robbery and subsequent shooting, only to uncover a hidden, fully functional underground casino inside the premises.

According to CMPD, officers arrived at the scene on March 13, 2025, after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
