Cheyenne Transient Charged with Burglary After Caught Inside Secured Property

CHEYENNE, Wyoming — A local transient was arrested and charged with commercial burglary after being caught by police inside a secured business property on April 29, 2025. The arrest occurred after officers responded to reports of an active trespasser on the premises.

Cheyenne police officers arrived at the secured property following an alert about unauthorized entry. Upon searching the premises, officers discovered the suspect inside a restricted area of the building. The suspect had bypassed multiple security measures to gain access to the interior.

An initial investigation on the scene revealed that the suspect was not merely trespassing but had entered with the intent to commit a crime, leading to the upgrading of the charges to felony commercial burglary. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Laramie County Detention Center.
