Surveillance Video Captures 4th Burglary at Urban City Smoke Shop in Jefferson Park

CHICAGO — A Jefferson Park smoke shop has been targeted by burglars once again, marking the fourth time the business has been hit in recent memory. The latest incident at the Urban City Smoke Shop, located on Foster Avenue, was captured in vivid detail on surveillance camera systems, leaving the business owners frustrated and calling for increased security in the area.

According to the Chicago Police Department and business staff, the commercial burglary occurred early on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Newly released surveillance footage shows the suspects forcing their way into the retail space. Within minutes, the thieves swept through the store, grabbing high-value products, including electronics, specialty glass items, and retail stock, before making a quick escape.

The shop owners expressed exasperation, noting that this is the fourth time their store has been hit. Despite updating security measures and adding reinforced windows, determined thieves continue to target their establishment.
