Pilsen Restaurant Targeted in Early Morning ATM Smash-and-Grab

CHICAGO, IL (Pilsen) — A restaurant in the historic Pilsen neighborhood became the latest target in a series of persistent ATM thefts across the city. The smash-and-grab burglary occurred in the early morning hours, disrupting the operations of the neighborhood establishment and raising concerns among local business owners.

According to authorities, perpetrators forced their way through the front entrance of the restaurant, causing significant property damage in the process. Once inside, they bypassed other valuables to focus exclusively on the ATM, which was forcefully removed from its mountings and hauled out of the building. The suspects managed to escape in an awaiting vehicle before police officers responded to the scene.
