Garfield Park and Humboldt Park Businesses Targeted in Consecutive Crash-and-Grab Burglary Spree

CHICAGO, IL — A wave of brazen "crash-and-grab" burglaries has once again targeted commercial establishments on Chicago's West Side, prompting investigations by the Chicago Police Department (CPD). Newly released surveillance footage has captured the dramatic moments when a group of thieves deliberately rammed a stolen vehicle into a local business in the Garfield Park neighborhood, before executing a rapid looting operation.

According to reports from the CPD, the Garfield Park break-in occurred early in the morning, leaving substantial structural damage to the storefront. In the video, the vehicle can be seen backing up or accelerating directly into the doors, shattering the glass security panels and breaking the metal frames. Within minutes, multiple suspects exited the vehicle and entered the premises, grabbing merchandise before fleeing the scene in a getaway car.

Almost concurrently, a second retail store located in the neighboring Humboldt Park community was also hit by burglars. Authorities are currently investigating whether the two incidents are linked, as they share an identical modus operandi involving stolen vehicles used as battering rams to bypass store security barriers. No arrests have been reported, and detectives are appealing to the public for any information regarding the suspects or the stolen vehicles involved in the spree.
