Bronzeville Foot Locker Struck by Crash-and-Grab Thieves in Linked South Side Spree
CHICAGO, IL โ A Foot Locker store in Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood was targeted in a destructive crash-and-grab burglary, which investigators have now formally linked to a parallel incident in Englewood. The pattern represents a growing trend of vehicle-assisted retail thefts targeting athletic apparel brands.
During the Bronzeville raid, a vehicle was utilized to breach the store's front entrance, causing substantial structural damage. A group of individuals entered the storefront, looting displays and stockrooms of high-demand sneakers and apparel. The suspects fled the scene in the same vehicle or a secondary getaway car before police arrived.
The Chicago Police Department is analyzing similarities in the vehicles and suspect descriptions from both the Bronzeville and Englewood cases. Officials believe a single crew or closely aligned groups are behind these coordinated retail hits. Investigation continues, and police are asking anyone with surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the Bronzeville store to review their footage from the night of the incident.
