$10,000 Stolen from North Side Mini Mart in Christmas Day Burglary

CHICAGO (CBS) โ€” A Christmas Day burglary at a mini mart on Chicago's North Side has left the business owners facing a significant financial loss after thieves made off with approximately $10,000 in cash.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 25, 2025. While many businesses were closed for the holiday, burglars forced entry into the mini mart. Once inside, they located the cash reserve, which was intended for holiday operations, and successfully made their escape before the crime was detected.

Chicago police officers responded to the scene after the break-in was discovered by the owners later that evening. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from both the store's internal cameras and nearby street monitoring systems. Police have not released descriptions of any suspects, and Area Three Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. The owners are appealing to anyone with information to contact the authorities.
