Chicago Police Investigate Commercial Burglary at Archer Liquors on Southwest Side

Chicago police are investigating an early morning burglary at Archer Liquors, a retail establishment located on the city’s Southwest Side. The break-in was part of a series of commercial thefts that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the business and arrived to find the front glass doors shattered and security grates compromised. Inside, the store was ransacked, with high-end bottles of liquor and cash registers targeted by the offenders. Security footage from the scene indicates that multiple suspects operated quickly to load stolen merchandise into a waiting getaway vehicle before fleeing the area.

The Southwest Side has seen several similar incidents targeting liquor stores and retail shops. Police are currently analyzing camera footage from the store and nearby intersections to identify the suspect vehicle and determine if this burglary is linked to a break-in at Miska's Liquors near Midway Airport on the same night. Detectives from Area One are handling the case.
