Duo Arrested in Grocery Store Restrooms Following Best Buy Theft and High-Speed Chase

CHICAGO, IL — A high-speed chase through Chicago streets culminated in the arrest of two individuals who attempted to evade law enforcement by hiding inside the restrooms of a local grocery store, officials reported.

The sequence of events began on Saturday afternoon when police received reports of a major retail theft in progress at a Best Buy store. Responding officers spotted the suspects' vehicle fleeing the retail complex, prompting them to initiate a pursuit.

The suspects led officers on a dangerous, high-speed chase, weaving through traffic before abandoning their vehicle near a busy commercial plaza. The duo then ran inside a nearby grocery store in a desperate bid to blend in with shoppers and escape detection.

Police quickly cordoned off the grocery store and conducted a systematic search of the building. Officers located and arrested both suspects without further incident inside the store's public restrooms.
