Five Hurt in Cicero Crash During Police Pursuit of Burglary Suspects

CICERO, Illinois โ€” Five people, including two police officers, were injured during a high-speed pursuit of burglary suspects that culminated in a serious multi-vehicle crash, officials said.

The pursuit began on April 6, 2026, when officers spotted a vehicle carrying suspects believed to be involved in local commercial burglaries. During the chase, the suspects' vehicle collided with a Cicero police cruiser and several civilian vehicles at an intersection.

Paramedics transported five injured individuals to local hospitals. One Cicero police officer has since been released after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate the burglary ring and seek information on the suspects who escaped the crash site.
