New Cincinnati Coffee Shop Georgie's Walk Up Hit by Break-In Just Weeks After Launch
CINCINNATI, Ohio — Just one month after celebrating its grand opening, a new Fairview neighborhood coffee shop is facing a major setback after a broad-daylight smash-and-grab burglary.
Georgie's Walk Up, which opened to high community acclaim, was burglarized on September 12, 2025. The suspect shattered the shop's glass door—which co-owner Adam Cameron noted had been installed only two weeks prior—and stole cash from the register. Cameron, who founded the coffee shop as a tribute to his puppy after recovering from stage 4 lymphoma, watched the burglary unfold live on his phone's security application, helpless to stop it.
โIt effectively erased our first month of hard work and serving our first 475 customers,โ Cameron said. The cost of replacing the custom glass door is estimated to be between $2,500 and $8,000, presenting a substantial financial hurdle for the nascent business.
Despite the devastating blow, the owners are refusing to let the incident deter them. Backed by overwhelming community support, Georgie's Walk Up reopened the very next morning, serving coffee through their walk-up window. Local police are active in investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact Crime Stoppers.
