Crooks Ram Vehicles into Two Colorado Springs Gun Stores in Overnight Burglary Attempt

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Authorities are investigating a highly coordinated and dangerous overnight operation after suspects rammed vehicles into two separate gun stores in Colorado Springs, leaving behind significant damage and triggering fears over stolen firearms hitting the streets.

The consecutive break-ins occurred during the early hours of Thursday, August 8, 2024. According to police reports, the suspects utilized vehicles as battering rams to smash through the fortified entrances of the businesses, using the momentum to bypass security grates and doors. The targeted locations included local firearm and sporting goods merchants in different parts of the city.

“We don't want these to get in the wrong hands,” expressed local officials, emphasizing the potential threat that stolen firearms pose to public safety.
