Police Investigate Overnight Burglary and Gun Theft at Colorado Springs Sporting Goods Store

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. โ€” Multiple firearms were stolen during an overnight break-in at a sporting goods store in Colorado Springs, prompting a large-scale investigation by local authorities.

The burglary took place in the early morning hours of May 21, 2024, when suspects breached the security system of the retail store. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the intruders targeted the firearms section of the shop, stealing several guns before fleeing the area. Officers arrived shortly after the alarm was triggered, but the suspects had already left the scene.

Detectives and forensic units are currently processing the scene for evidence and reviewing surveillance footage from both the business and neighboring shops. Given the nature of the stolen goods, law enforcement is treating the case with high urgency to prevent the weapons from being used in future crimes. No suspect descriptions have been released yet, and the investigation remains open.
