Juvenile Arrested Following Colorado Springs Vape Shop Smash-and-Grab Burglary

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A juvenile suspect is in police custody following a destructive overnight break-in at a local vape shop, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the commercial establishment early Thursday morning after a business security alarm was triggered. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered extensive property damage, including a shattered storefront window that had been breached to gain entry to the building. The suspect had already fled the premises with an undisclosed amount of merchandise before police arrived.

Following a brief search of the surrounding area and utilizing descriptions gathered during the initial response, officers located and apprehended a juvenile suspect nearby. The suspect, whose name has not been released due to age restrictions under state law, is facing charges of commercial burglary and criminal mischief. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine if additional accomplices were involved in the smash-and-grab heist.
