Columbia Man Arrested with Firearm and Narcotics After Tanger Outlet Boulevard Burglary

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — A Columbia man has been arrested and faces several serious charges after police caught him with a firearm and drugs following an alleged burglary on Tanger Outlet Boulevard, according to the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD).

Officers responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a commercial establishment along the busy shopping corridor. Upon arriving at the scene, NCPD officers located a suspect matching the description provided by witnesses. The suspect attempted to evade police but was detained shortly thereafter.

A subsequent search of the suspect, identified as a resident of Columbia, revealed a loaded firearm and a quantity of illegal narcotics. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect did not possess a valid permit for the weapon. The individual has been booked into the local detention facility, facing charges of burglary, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and possession of controlled substances.
