One Dead Following Homicide at Columbus Apartment Complex

COLUMBUS, Georgia — A violent home invasion at a Columbus apartment complex on Monday has resulted in the death of one individual, according to the local coroner's office.

The Columbus Police Department and emergency medical services responded to calls of an active home invasion and shooting at an apartment complex in the city. Upon arrival, officials discovered one victim suffering from fatal injuries.

Investigation Underway in Muscogee County

The Muscogee County Coroner confirmed the death at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives have launched a homicide investigation, interviewing neighbors and searching for any potential security footage that may have captured suspects entering or fleeing the apartment complex.
