Three Suspects Arrested in Columbus Armed Robbery Triggered by Fraudulent Firearm Sale

COLUMBUS, Ohio โ€” Three people are in police custody following an armed robbery that stemmed from a fraudulent transaction involving a fake gun sale in Columbus.

The incident began when the victim arranged to meet with the sellers to purchase a firearm. However, once the parties met, the transaction turned into a setup. The suspects threatened the victim at gunpoint and robbed them of cash and personal items before fleeing the scene.

Following a rapid response by Columbus police officers, the getaway vehicle was spotted and stopped shortly after the crime occurred. All three suspects were arrested and booked on charges including aggravated armed robbery and conspiracy. Officers recovered the stolen items along with the replica firearm used in the heist. Authorities are reminding the public to utilize designated safe-exchange zones at local police precincts for any online marketplace transactions.
