Attempted Murder Charge Filed Following Armed Robbery and Shooting inside Cordova Smoke Shop

CORDOVA, Tennessee — A violent confrontation inside a Cordova smoke shop has resulted in attempted murder charges for a local man, according to reports from the Memphis Police Department.

The incident took place during a robbery attempt at the business on November 3, 2025. Investigators state that the suspect entered the smoke shop armed with a firearm and demanded money from employees. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect discharged his weapon, striking an individual inside the shop.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and treated the victim for gunshot wounds. Following a swift investigation, police identified and arrested the suspect, charging him with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, and employment of a firearm during a dangerous felony.

The suspect is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail without bond. The victim's condition remains undisclosed, and the incident has once again drawn attention to safety concerns surrounding retail establishments in the area.
