Teen and Juvenile Arrested in Shelby County Following Cordova Shooting and Burglary Spree

CORDOVA, Tennessee — Law enforcement officers in Shelby County have arrested two suspects, including an 18-year-old and a juvenile, in connection with a shooting and a series of commercial burglaries that targeted Cordova businesses.

The arrests follow a detailed investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office into a rash of break-ins at retail stores in the area. Authorities linked the suspects not only to the commercial burglaries but also to a recent shooting incident in Cordova, compounding the severity of the charges they now face.

According to arrest reports, the 18-year-old suspect and the minor allegedly worked together to break into local businesses, causing significant property damage and stealing merchandise. The shooting, which occurred during the same timeframe, is believed to be linked to their criminal activities, though police have not released details on whether anyone was injured in the gunfire.

The adult suspect is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail, while the minor is in the custody of juvenile authorities. Both are charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary, theft of property, vandalism, and charges related to the shooting. Police indicate that additional arrests or charges may follow as the investigation continues.
