Denver’s $12 Million Hyde Park Jewelers Burglary Still Unresolved After a Year

DENVER, CO — More than a year after a group of highly organized burglars executed a stunning, multi-million dollar heist at the Hyde Park Jewelers flagship store in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, the case remains one of the region's most high-profile unresolved property crimes. The sophisticated burglary, which took place overnight between July 21 and July 22, 2024, resulted in the loss of jewelry, high-end watches, and luxury goods valued at approximately $12.3 million.

During the heist, the perpetrators entered the shopping center disguised as construction workers, bringing in heavy power tools, including drills, saws, and blowtorches. They managed to breach a wall from an adjacent vacant retail space to gain direct access to the jewelry store's vault, spending roughly eight hours systematically looting the inventory. Despite an alarm being triggered at approximately 11:30 p.m. on the night of the burglary, mall security checked the storefront but reported nothing suspicious, mistakenly dismissing the alert as a false alarm.

A year later, in August 2025, investigators from the Denver Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue to work the case. They are reviewing digital evidence, tower dumps, and license plate reader data.
