Brandon Olsen faces robbery, burglary and arson charges after break-in at Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center in Denver

DENVER, CO โ€” A major security breach at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center in downtown Denver has resulted in multiple felony charges against Brandon Olsen. The suspect faces serious counts of robbery, burglary, and arson following an incident that caused significant damage to the high-security state court building.

The intrusion occurred during the early morning hours when security alarms were triggered at the judicial center, which houses the Colorado Supreme Court and the state's Court of Appeals. Upon entering the building, Olsen reportedly gained access to sensitive administrative areas, committed theft, and deliberately set fires within the facility, activating the building's sprinkler systems and causing extensive water and smoke damage.

Responding officers and fire crews quickly arrived on the scene, managing to contain the fire and locate Olsen inside the building. He was arrested without further incident. Investigators are currently working to determine the motive behind the break-in and whether Olsen was targeting specific judicial offices or records.

The Colorado Judicial Department has initiated a comprehensive review of the security protocols at the Carr Center, promising to implement immediate upgrades to prevent future unauthorized entries. Court operations were temporarily disrupted as cleanup and restoration efforts got underway.
