Denver Area Robbery Suspects Injured in Rollover Crash Following High-Speed Police Pursuit
COMMERCE CITY, CO — A violent armed robbery in Commerce City triggered a dramatic high-speed police chase that ended in a rollover crash in Denver, leaving three robbery suspects hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to the Commerce City Police Department, the incident began in the 6100 block of Oneida Street, where suspects in two separate vehicles approached a group of people sitting outside a home. The suspects held the victims at gunpoint and knifepoint, stealing their personal belongings. In a surprising turn of events, as officers arrived and began interviewing the victims, both suspect vehicles returned to the scene. Officers immediately attempted to block and stop the vehicles, but both fled at high speed, prompting a pursuit.
The chase moved rapidly onto Interstate 70 toward Denver. One of the suspect vehicles attempted to exit at Pecos Street but lost control, crashing into a retaining wall and rolling over. All three occupants inside the vehicle — including two teenagers aged 16 and 18 — suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital. The second suspect vehicle managed to evade police, and authorities are continuing their search for the remaining suspects. The aggravated robbery and the circumstances surrounding the chase are currently under investigation by local law enforcement.
