Detroit Jazz Dispensary Robbed for Third Time, Owner Offers Reward

DETROIT, Michigan — A family-owned cannabis dispensary on Detroit's west side has fallen victim to a brazen heist for the third time in less than a year, leaving the owners frustrated and pleading for the community's help. The Jazz Cannabis Club, located on Telegraph Road, was targeted in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 1, 2025.

According to security footage and police reports, the break-in occurred around 3:00 a.m. when a crew of five suspects orchestrated a swift, highly coordinated entry. The perpetrators forced their way through a metal garage door before breaching the front entrance of the retail store. Once inside, they cleared out approximately $100,000 worth of cannabis products in under two minutes before fleeing the scene.

A Frustrated Business Owner

George Brikho, the owner of the dispensary, expressed profound exhaustion over the recurring crimes. He emphasized that the Jazz Cannabis Club is a small, local, family-owned business rather than a large corporate multi-state operator. In hopes of catching the culprits, Brikho has announced a $10,000 cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved.

"We are a small family business. We work hard to serve our community, and to be targeted repeatedly is devastating," Brikho said. "We need these individuals caught so we can operate in peace."

A Pattern of Targeted Operations

This incident marks the third major burglary attempt at the Telegraph Road dispensary within a twelve-month span. Previous attempts to breach the facility were equally destructive:

  • December 2024: Suspects attempted a smash-and-grab by crashing a stolen U-Haul truck directly into the back of the building.
  • Earlier Incident: Intruders utilized heavy sledgehammers in an effort to shatter the reinforced security walls of the dispensary.

The Detroit Police Department's investigation is active. Officers noted that the crew appeared organized and familiar with security protocols, allowing them to bypass primary barriers and escape prior to police arrival. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers.
