Knife-Wielding Robber Targets Commerce Township Lingerie Store; Suspect Arrested
COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a terrifying armed robbery at a suburban Detroit lingerie shop. The incident occurred at "Intimate Ideas," a retail boutique located at 2603 Union Lake Road in Commerce Township, northwest of Detroit.
The robbery took place at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Authorities reported that a suspect entered the establishment through a rear door, armed with a knife. He confronted a 19-year-old sales clerk, demanding cash from the register. Fortunately, there were no customers in the store at the time. The young clerk complied with the demands and was physically unharmed during the encounter.
The suspect fled the scene on foot before leaving the area in what witnesses described as a black Ford Focus approximately ten years old. Police described the suspect as being about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with dark facial hair, wearing baggy clothing that obscured his weight.
Suspect Arrested and Held on $2 Million Bond
Following a multi-agency investigation, authorities arrested 37-year-old James Arthur-Michael Trammell of Milford, Michigan, on March 13, 2026. Trammell was taken into custody near his residence. He is charged with armed robbery and is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $2 million bond. Investigators believe Trammell may also be linked to another armed robbery at a local smoke shop in the area.
