U-Haul truck crashes into Save A Lot building on Detroit's west side in burglary attempt

DETROIT, MI — A bold ram-raid burglary attempt on Detroit's west side has left a local grocery store with severe structural damage. In the early hours of Tuesday, December 31, 2024, suspects utilized a rented U-Haul moving truck as a battering ram, reversing it directly into the facade of the Save A Lot supermarket.

The impact shattered the building's storefront, causing extensive damage to the entryway and structural support beams.
