Barricade Situation at Segundo Barrio Business Ends as Suspect Flees Prior to Police Perimeter

EL PASO, Texas — A tense barricade situation at a local business in El Paso's historic Segundo Barrio neighborhood concluded without arrests after police determined the suspect had likely escaped before the scene was fully secured.

The incident began on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, when El Paso police officers responded to reports of a suspect barricading themselves inside a commercial property. Believing the individual was still inside, arriving officers quickly established a secure perimeter around the establishment, shutting down nearby streets and advising residents to avoid the area.
