El Paso Good Samaritan Intervenes to Protect 85-Year-Old Robbery Victim

EL PASO, Texas — A local resident is being hailed as a hero after intervening to stop a teenage suspect from robbing an 85-year-old woman, El Paso police reported.

The incident occurred in broad daylight when the elderly victim was approached by a teenager attempting to forcefully steal her belongings. A good Samaritan, whom witnesses and community members are calling a guardian angel, noticed the struggle and immediately stepped in. The bystander managed to physically intervene, preventing the robbery from being completed and detaining the suspect until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

Police arrived shortly after and took the teenager into custody. Thanks to the quick and selfless actions of the citizen, the 85-year-old woman was unharmed and did not lose any of her possessions. Authorities praised the good Samaritan for their courage but also reminded the public to exercise caution when confronting suspects in criminal situations.
