Series of Jewelry Thefts at Cielo Vista Mall Leads to Arrests and Police Investigation in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas — A string of high-value thefts at El Paso retail locations has culminated in arrests and an ongoing police investigation. The incidents, which primarily targeted jewelry stores within the Cielo Vista Mall, have drawn significant attention from local law enforcement and off-duty deputies.

The crime spree came to a head on August 23, 2024, when off-duty sheriff's deputies successfully intercepted and arrested a suspect at the Cielo Vista Mall. The individual was found in possession of approximately $9,000 worth of stolen jewelry, ending a brief pursuit within the shopping center.
