Fugitive Wanted for Burglary and Assault Apprehended in Central El Paso

EL PASO, Texas — A fugitive wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, including burglary and physical assault, was arrested in Central El Paso on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, ending a weeks-long search by local law enforcement.

The arrest was executed by the El Paso Police Department's Career Criminal Unit in cooperation with patrol officers. According to police reports, investigators received credible intelligence indicating the suspect's presence at a residential property in the central district. Officers established surveillance around the location and moved in to make the arrest once the suspect was spotted outside the residence.

The suspect attempted to evade officers but was quickly detained and taken into custody without further incident. The individual was wanted on felony warrants stemming from a violent home invasion and subsequent assault that occurred earlier in the year. Neighbors reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area during the operation, which concluded within an hour.

The suspect has been booked into the El Paso County Jail under a significant bond. Authorities emphasized the importance of community cooperation in locating high-risk fugitives.
