Erie police seek suspect who robbed West 18th Street store before fleeing on a bicycle

ERIE, Pa. — Erie police are searching for a lone suspect who robbed a local convenience store on West 18th Street on Wednesday evening before making a quick getaway on a bicycle.

The robbery was reported at approximately 8:10 p.m. at a retail store located in the 500 block of West 18th Street. Police stated that the suspect entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded cash from the register. The cashier complied with the demands, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to witnesses, the suspect is described as a male of medium build, wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, and a baseball cap. After securing the cash, the suspect exited the building and fled westbound on a dark-colored bicycle.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Officers searched the surrounding neighborhood immediately after the call, but were unable to locate the cyclist. Police are asking residents in the West 18th Street area with exterior security cameras or doorbell cameras to check their footage from Wednesday night.
