Evansville Animal Control Reopens Following Break-In and Dog Theft

EVANSVILLE, IN — Normal operations have resumed at Evansville Animal Control after a weekend break-in and the theft of a dog forced a temporary closure of the facility. The facility reopened on Monday, November 10, 2025, as local police continue their investigation into the security breach.

Staff members arriving at the shelter discovered evidence of forced entry and realized that one of the dogs housed at the facility had been stolen from its kennel.
