FARGO, N.D. — Automated license plate reading technology has once again proven instrumental in helping local law enforcement solve crimes, leading to the rapid arrest of a robbery suspect in Fargo.

The Fargo Police Department utilized the Flock Safety license plate reader (LPR) network to track and locate a vehicle associated with a recent robbery. According to police reports, after the crime was committed, details of the suspect's vehicle were entered into the system. It didn't take long for the cameras to detect the vehicle's location, sending real-time alerts to officers in the field.

With the precise location data provided by the Flock system, officers were able to converge on the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, leading to the peaceful arrest of the suspect without further incident. The identity of the suspect and the specific details of the robbery have not yet been fully released as the investigation continues.
