Three Suspects Apprehended After Shoplifting and Assault Incidents at Florence Walmarts

The Florence Police Department responded to emergency calls regarding a theft in progress that quickly turned violent. According to store employees, a group of individuals attempted to bypass checkout lanes with stolen merchandise. When confronted by retail security officers, the suspects reportedly assaulted the staff members before attempting to flee.

Arrests and Criminal Charges

Responding officers intercepted the suspects' vehicle shortly after they left the second Walmart store. All three occupants were detained and identified. They now face multiple criminal charges, including shoplifting, conspiracy, and assault and battery.

“We will not tolerate violence against retail workers who are simply doing their jobs,” stated the police chief. The injured security staff received medical attention for minor injuries at the scene.
