Fort Worth police search for suspects who fired at homeowner during car theft attempt

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police detectives are actively searching for a group of suspects who opened fire on a homeowner during a late-night vehicle theft attempt. The shocking incident has raised security concerns in the quiet residential neighborhood.

The incident occurred when the homeowner heard suspicious noises coming from his driveway. Upon looking outside, he observed several individuals attempting to break into and steal his vehicle. When the homeowner stepped outside to confront the suspects and protect his property, one of the perpetrators drew a firearm and fired multiple rounds in his direction.

Fortunately, the homeowner was not struck by the gunfire and was able to seek cover immediately. The suspects, startled by the confrontation, abandoned their attempt and quickly fled the scene in a getaway vehicle. Officers arrived shortly after the shooting occurred, collecting shell casings and searching the area for surveillance cameras.
