Fort Worth Lowe's Chainsaw Thief Identified by Distinctive Hand Tattoo
FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is calling on the public to help identify a suspect who brazenly walked out of a Lowe's home improvement store with two high-end chainsaws. The robbery, which was captured in crystal-clear surveillance footage, has been featured on FOX 4’s weekly "Trackdown" segment.
High-Value Theft Caught on Camera
The theft occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. on June 28, 2025, at a local Lowe's store in Fort Worth. Surveillance video shows a male suspect entering the store empty-handed and walking directly to the outdoor power equipment section.
He selected two expensive chainsaws, valued at approximately $1,000 each. Instead of heading to the checkout lanes, the man bypassed all points of sale. When confronted by a store employee near the exit, the suspect ignored the worker and walked out to the parking lot with the stolen merchandise, valued at $2,000 in total.
Distinctive Blue Star Tattoo Highlighted by Police
Fort Worth Police Officer Buddy Calzada pointed out that the surveillance footage is unusually clear and should make the suspect recognizable. In addition to his face, investigators highlighted a key identifying mark: a distinct blue star tattoo on the back of the suspect's left hand.
Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect from the video or has information about the blue star hand tattoo to contact Detective Leader with the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-392-3137. Callers can remain anonymous.
